California assembly member David Chiu took significant steps in bullying and harassment prevention for California schools in late August. Chiu passed new legislation through the Assembly, which is now pending approval by Governor Brown. A 20-year-old construction worker was killed in a construction accident in Pomona, California recently. The accident involved a telescopic forklift, which is a common tool that construction workers use to transport items within the construction site.
