Fatal pedestrian accident in South Los Angeles

We are all lucky to live in one of the most beautiful and sought-after cities in the world. Millions of people flock here ever year to either find fame and fortune or just get a glimpse of it. We live in a perennial good weather and never too far from the beach. However, the one thing we are not blessed with is safe roads. Indeed, we have some of the highest trafficked, and as a result, dangerous roads in the country. This was exemplified recently by a fatal pedestrian accident in south Los Angeles, California.

The fatal motor vehicle accident

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident occurred around noon on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The car accident was actually part of two accidents. The first occurred in the Broadway-Manchester neighborhood, at the intersection of Main Street and 88th Place, where a truck collided with a sedan, but fled the scene of that accident. The truck continued west through the intersection where they struck the pedestrian, then careened into a parked sedan.

After the fatal accident

According to eye witnesses and video of the scene, at least three individuals fled the truck after the fatal motor vehicle accident. Witnesses attempted to chase and apprehend them, but they were unable to catch anyone. Unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene. However, the driver and passengers of the sedan struck in the intersection were not injured, and the parked sedan was unoccupied.

Witnesses sought

LAPD is still looking for additional witnesses and anyone that may be able to identify the driver or passengers. The truck is described as an older Ford Ranger. Two of the people that fled were identified as males, one wearing jeans and a yellow shirt, carrying a DeWalt toolbox. The other man was described as wearing a green vest. After fatal car accidents
